  Hands down, THE BEST Brown Stew Chicken. EVER. It's savory, super flavorful, and absolutely delicious! Perfectly seasoned, bone-in (dark meat) chicken stewed in the most magnificent brown sauce you can imagine, with all of the right Caribbean spices and hints of fresh herbs and vegetables such as thyme, scallions, potatoes, and carrots. It all shows up on your plate!
  
  Did I mention it's extremely flavorful? My taste buds go bonkers whenever it hits my tongue. It leaves my stomach so full and satisfied, yet my mouth craving for more, and no, this is NOT an exaggeration. In fact, it's so gosh darn good that it's the ONLY thing that I've ordered from them since discovering Island Jerk about 2 years ago. Of course, I would love to try some of their other seemingly delicious dishes, but it is impossible for me to go there and NOT order their Brown Stew Chicken!
  
  I come here WEEKLY for their Tuesday Lunch Special (which happens to be Brown Stew Chicken, each day has a different special) for $5.99. It comes with rice and peas, steamed cabbage/veggies, 2 slices of fried plantain, and your choice of a canned soda or a bottled water. It really doesn't get any better than that! Service is fast and friendly. You pay when you place your order, but they always show you your food before bagging to ensure your order is correct and that you're satisfied. Customers are always in and out. The restaurant stays clean with a homey atmosphere, topped off with Caribbean vibes from the music videos they play daily on their television.
  
  I highly recommend Island Jerk to everyone!

  I'm going to make this review quick.
  
  This was my first time visiting this place as I usually go to Golden Krust because I didn't know of any other West Indian places around here. I decided to give this place a try but I think I made a mistake. It was overpriced,  the food wasn't good and the server was very cheap! He gave me a little bit of food and when I asked for a little more rice, he said there was enough which I could see it wasn't . Very disappointing. I had high hopes because the food did look tasty.
  I doubt I'll give them another try though because I don't want to waste my money again.

  I went there last week and purchase ox tails and rice plate. When I got to the bottom of the rice it was stale. I paid 14.00 dollars for the plate. I will never return.

  I visit a few time a year to get my curry fix. They have fresh food daily and reasonable prices for my favorite Jamaican dishes. The service is okay...most of the employees are friendly. Once in awhile they'll try to skimp on my portions, but I am pretty good at reminding them of the price to portion ratio.

  I'm not from the area. And I have been trying Jamaican food recently. I ordered the ox tails and my card declined, the owner gave them to me for free and even checked to make sure it was what I wanted. This is going to be my new go to Jamaican spot. The ox tails were so tender and the gravy it came with was perfect for the rice. My new go to place . My day was made ! THANK YOU!
